The Haymarket Theatre from its origin to the management of Sir H. Beerbohm Tree. 1709-1888

Two volumes of scrapbooks, containing approximately 600 items affixed to 492 leaves, mostly on the recto. Contents include: autograph material (including letters by T.B. MacDonough and Madge Kendal); graphic material (portraits of actors from engravings, drawings, sketches or caricatures; plans and drawings of the Haymarket; photographs, scenes from plays); and printed material (playbills; programs; texts from lays; song sheets; clippings with notices and reviews from various periodicals). There are occasional pencil identifications of actors in the illustrations.
