This collection documents the administrative planning, research, publicity, and activities surrounding the American Jewish Tercentenary celebration from its inception in 1948 to its closing in 1955. The collection includes a representation of materials used in planning and presenting the event including correspondence, programs, minutes, proposals, reports, clippings, press releases, filmstrips, photo reproductions of illustrations and a photograph. Major organisations involved in the Tercentenary celebrations were: American Jewish Archives, American Jewish Historical Society, Union of American Hebrew Congregations.
