Carl Gohs/Northwest Magazine photographs collection [graphic], circa 1960-1979

The Carl Gohs/Northwest Magazine photographs collection consists primarily of 328 black-and-white photographic prints created in conjunction with Carl Gohs' architecture stories for Northwest Magazine, a weekly lifestyle publication distributed with the Sunday edition of Portland's Oregonian newspaper. The collection additionally contains a small amount of printed emphemera (correspondence and newspaper clippings). The photographs, ranging in date from the early 1960s to the late 1970s, chiefly show exterior and interior views of residences in the Portland and Eugene areas, including the Maegly House, the Grace Kern Home, the Henry Everding House, and the Solomon House. Architects represented in the collection include William Gray Purcell, Fletcher and Finch, John Storrs, and Walter Gordon. Photographers include Carl Gohs, Peter Corvallis, Erik Blume, Jim Kight, and Barry Lopez. The collection is unprocessed.
