Eugene N.S. Ringueberg was born on April 13, 1859. He received a degree in medicine from the University of Buffalo in 1886, specializing in opthalmology. In 1891 he opened an office in Lockport, New York for treatment of the eye. His interest in science and natural history led him to collect minerals, fossils, insects, and other objects.
