Harrison Veterans of 1840 records, 1888.

Harrison Veterans was a group of Republicans in Hartford, Connecticut, who had voted for William Henry Harrison for president in 1840 and joined together in 1888 to support Benjamin Harrison in that year's election. Membership was open to anyone who had voted for W.H. Harrison in 1840; honorary membership was extended to those who voted for VanBuren. The collection consists of a printed booklet documenting the organization and meetings of the club with a list of members, annotated with the death date and age of each member; a subscription list; a newspaper clipping of a song written by Horace Greeley for the 1840 campaign; and a letter from Hiram Eddy of Canaan, Connecticut, to H.A. Silliman in Hartford, discussing the Harrison Veterans and the celebratory "Tippecanoe Dinner" after the election, an event that was repeated annually.
