The Travelers Insurance Companies appealed the City of Hartford's assessment of their company stock for taxes. When Travelers did not pay, the City took the company to court. The records include the plaintiff's and the defendant's briefs and a transcript of the testimony. The case was commonly called the "Hartford Theater Site case".
