Gurdon Saltonstall letters, 1693-1724.

The first letter, dated 1693 October 9, was addressed to Governor and Council of the Colony of Connecticut, concerning papers he delivered to "the Major General". The second letter, dated 1710 November 16, was addressed to Sir Henry Ashurst, and discussed an overture by the Indian Sachem Oweneco about some land near New London, Connecticut. The final letter was dated 1724 July 5, addressed to Governor Dummer of Massachusetts. This letter appears to be a draft as many lines are crossed out. He mentioned Capt Butler, thirty English men, and the Indians that were to join and march with Butler to the frontier.
