This collection contains Seattle Seminary elementary and high school records (1894-1950s) including ledgers, reports, student files and registration cards, correspondence and diplomas; Cascade College grades and student files; catalogs and admissions publications; Fine and Performing Arts programs; yearbooks; student publications (Falcon newspaper, Second Essence literary journal); films ("De Shazer," "Prescription for Doc," "Little Red Schoolhouse"); and other materials generated by the Office of University Communications. The collection also contains Le Shana radio series tapes, Madelon Schiesser files, some records of Wayne Clugston, admissions publications, catalogs, directories, faculty files, newsclippings, and other materials.

Established in 1890 with nine members, the Board of Trustees is the governing body for Seattle Pacific University (formerly Seattle Seminary and Seattle Pacific College). Originally, all nine members were elected by the Washington Conference of the Free Methodist Church. By 1950, the Board had the authority to elect up to eight members.
