This collection consists of correspondence between the head of the United Mine Workers of America and district officers or their representatives in the field, arranged by district. Series ZG: Photographs (0.23 cubic feet) consists of prints that were photocopied and then removed from district correspondence files for the purpose of preservation. These images document mining equipment, union conventions and meetings, strikes and rallies in Kentucky, North Dakota, and West Virginia, and mining disasters in Pennsylvania.
