Manuscript declaration with wax seal and signed by the Governor of Guatemala ordering the expulsion of the Jesuits from his dominions. Governor's wax seal is stamped through two pieces of paper, cut to give heart-shaped ends that have been folded over the seal. Signed at end by Pedro de Salazar Herrera and Francisco Valdez [?].

Pedro de Salazar Herrera, Spanish military leader, was born in Cadiz, Spain in 1704 and died in Guatemala in 1771. He fought in the war of Oran and Italy. He was the military and political governor of Ciudad Rodrigo, and Captain-General, Governor and President of the Real Audiencia de Guatemala (1761-1771).
