Collection contains letters from family and clergy; a scrapbook compiled by Henry Sheldon and labeled BKWD, volume 3 of the Weeks Family Scrapbooks (formerly shelved in Range 2F1-4). The scrapbook contains letters primarily written to Henry Sheldon by J. Avery Shepherd; newspaper articles which describe Shepherd and were collected by Henry Sheldon, including a newspaper sketch of Shepherd in later life; several pieces of ephemera concerning St. Clement's Hall ca. 1870; Shepherd's ordination certificate; and letters from E.P. Wadhams to Jonathan Avery Shepherd.

Jonathan Avery Shepherd (b. Aug. 26, 1816; d. Mar. 30, 1898) was born in Brandon, Vt., the son of Jonathan and Abigail (Avery) Shepherd. He was the grandson of Eunice Weeks, who was a sister of Henry Sheldon's mother, Sarah Weeks. Thus, J. Avery Shepherd and Henry Sheldon were first cousins once removed.
