Walter William (Billy or Wal) Foy was born 5 June 1919 into a well known Perth harness racing family. In his teens he went to work on farming properties in the wheatbelt and then to station properties in the Murchison and Pilbara. He joined the RAAF on 24 February 1942 and eventually was appointed a gunner based in England. He died in action in Germany on 2 March 1945. From the description of Papers, 1933-1949. 1933-1949.
