Papers of Milwaukee resident who served as secretary of the Wisconsin Chapter of the National League for Woman's Service, a patriotic organization founded during World War I. The records consist of detailed meeting minutes; correspondence with affiliate volunteer organizations; programs for an Americanization pageant, Armistice Day, Milwaukee's welcome home parade for soldiers; and an unpublished history of the organization's activities. Includes a 'Share in the Victory' War Savings Stamp poster issued in 1918, featuring an allegorical female figure holding a sword and a palm branch by artist Haskell Coffin. Also contains photographic prints and lantern slides documenting immigrant housing conditions in Milwaukee in 1905-1906, made during Edessa Lines's (nee: Kunz) tenure as a factory inspector for the Wisconsin Bureau of Labor. Also includes fragmented documentation from 1915-1916 concerning the management of the Wisconsin Industrial School for Girls, prior to the private institution's transfer to the state of Wisconsin in 1917.
