Recordings of a lecture held at the Canadian Centre for Architecture, Montréal, Jan. 22, 1998. Hélène-Andrée Bizier outlines the history of education and educational institutions in Montréal, in particular the Université de Montréal. The event was organized by Heritage Montréal in collaboration with the CCA and was the first in a series of lectures entitled "Les bâtisseurs de la métropole" = "Builders of the Metropolis", presented as a compliment to the exhibition "Montréal métropole, 1880-1930", held at the CCA Mar. 18-May 24, 1998. Includes introductory and closing remarks by Dinu Bumbaru and closing remarks by Nancy Dunton.
