Frank R. Thorn New Orleans daybook, 1866-1867, 1877-1887.

Pages 1-43 of this daybook document Thorn's commerce from the Port of New Orleans during the years 1866-1867. He traded in commodities such as sugar, tobacco, flour, molasses, lard, and whiskey, which he shipped to Cincinnati, St. Louis, Galveston, and Mobile, often in large quantities. The account offers particularly detailed information on Mississippi River steamboats, as Thorn owned several boats and consigned his merchandise on many others. The remainder of the volume contains accounts from 1877 to 1887 concerning Thorn's real estate on St. Charles Avenue and Prytania Street in New Orleans. They include names of tenants, rents collected, and accounts with craftsmen and repairmen.
