Old Fort Niagara preservation papers, 1891-1949.

Chiefly correspondence concerning efforts by the Old Fort Niagara Association and officers of the Buffalo Historical Society to preserve Fort Niagara, with some background material on the age and condition of the various fort structures, including letters by E.G. Bush, post commander, to Frederic J. Shepard, Buffalo Courier, Mar. 1891, and Sarah E. Boyce's memories, 1903, of her childhood at the fort. Also, a description and snapshots of the lighthouse on the American side of the Niagara River at Fort Niagara, 1941; a list of commanding officers at Fort Niagara, 1797-1945; and photographic copies of plans and elevations of the fort, 1727-1738.
