Recordings of lecture given by David Hanna examining how the introduction of tramways, or streetcars, effected the expansion of Montréal in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Presented on Feb. 15, 2001 at the Canadian Centre for Architecture, Montréal, in collaboration with Heritage Montreal, as the third of six lectures in a series entitled "Comment traverser une ville / A moving experience". Includes opening and closing remarks by Nancy Dunton.
