Boughton papers, 1935-1941.

Miscellaneous letters and reminiscences by Jennie Boughton about her family and early Spokane history. The collection includes Boughton's reminiscences describing her family's arrival in Spokane in 1887 and the family's operation of the Falls View Hotel. There is another folder of papers about the hotel. Also present is a letter from Mary A. Monroe, a former principal at Lincoln school, in which she describes Spokane's early schools. There is one letter in which Boughton writes about rural telephones and another letter from Seth T. Woodard about Spokane Garry.

Jennie Boughton, librarian, came to Spokane as a child in 1887. She began working for Spokane Public Library in 1902 and retired in 1942. She was in charge of the periodical room.
