A collection of correspondence, subject files, player files, newspaper clippings, press releases and various other files which were kept by the American League office. The bulk of this collection was originally produced in the Chicago office while William Harridge was president of the league. In 1959, Joe Cronin became president and moved the office to Boston and only the active files were forwarded. When Harridge died in 1971, all files were shipped to Boston. The subject files, series III, has a total of 57 boxes and make up a majority of this collection. The Player files, series VI, has 24 boxes.
