In 1960 at the time that this study was undertaken, William G. Bowen was a professor and researcher in the Industrial Relations Section. With the cooperation of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, Bowen launched a study that thoroughly explored the relationship between the Federal Government and Princeton University.
