ALS : [near Wilmington, Del.], to Mr. Lammot, [1864?] May 21.

Mary Belin, prior to her marriage to Lammot du Pont, writes to "Mr. Lammot," probably Daniel Lammot, Jr., asking him to buy some tickets for the "Sanitary Concert" to be given on May 28. The date is probably 1863 or 1864. In the latter case it would have preceded the Great Sanitary Fair in Philadelphia. "Sanitary Concerts" were held at the Du Pont's Brandywine Works in 1862-1864 to raise money for the U.S. Sanitary Commission.
