This collection consists of papers of the Renshaw family of New Orleans, La. The collection primarily, but not exclusively, concerns the lives and careers of Donald Renshaw and Evan Renshaw. Included are correspondence, numerous photographs, newspaper clippings and other printed items, and a drawing. The bulk of the photographs are of places and people in Russia and India, and other foreign countries.

Judge Henry Renshaw (1812-1928) and his wife Marie Eugenie Deynoodt Renshaw raised a large New Orleans Catholic family of three brothers and eight sisters. The eldest brother Donald Renshaw (1889-1961) became a federal government official and was well-known for his foreign relief work.
