Brace and Bunce family papers, 1813-1859.

A collection of correspondence sent among members of the Brace and Bunce families. Arranged chronologically, letters were sent to and from Frances Ann Brace Bunce, her aunts Electa Kimberly and Fanny Brace Hall, grandparents Jonathan and Ann Brace, her mother Lucy Brace, her husband James Bunce, and others. Other pieces of interest within the collection include a catalog of students and faculty at Hartford Female Seminary, 1829, and school work from Frances' time at the Litchfield Female Academy. Frances' letters were written from Hartford and Litchfield. Her Aunt Fannie wrote from Middlebury, Vermont. Later letters were sent by Bunces in Oswego, New York and Boston.
