Samuel Ferguson diary, 1902-1903.

Copy of a typed diary kept by Samuel Ferguson while working at the General Electric Company Research Laboratory in Schenectady, New York. Each entry contains a few sentences, often mentioning the weather and the day's entertainment. In June 1903 we wrote of his engagement to Margaret (Ellen Margaret Price).The couple married that November. A native of New Hampshire, Ferguson moved to Hartford in 1883 when his father joined the faculty of Trinity College. He graduated from Hartford Public High School, Trinity College, Columbia School of Mines, and the Columbia Graduate School. After working at the GE Research Lab, Ferguson returned to Hartford to work for the Hartford Electric Light Company. He rose to be chairman of the board of the company and was highly regarded for his knowledge of the industry.
