The initial Articles of Incorporation, dated October 17, 1898 bear the signature of Jesuit priest Adrian Sweere, SJ, a founder of Seattle College. A.A. Lemieux, SJ was the 15th President of Seattle University from 1948 until 1965, and is remembered as one of the most successful President's in Seattle University history.
