Warren G. Schinger was born in Los Angeles and earned his BS, Ms and PhD degrees from Cal Tech. He also taught there from 1949 through 1953 when he went to work for Texaco, where he stayed for the remainder of his career, rising from Chemical Engineer to Associate Director, Gasification.
