The original order of the documents as they arrived in Accession 1998-19 has been maintained. The original order was retained because the accession was referred to numerous times by JPL personnel prior to processing. JPL personnel who accessed the documents became familiar with the arrangement in which they had been assembled for shipment to the Archives. The Archives Transfer Request forms that accompanied the records, now preserved in Folder 1, were prepared by Susan Roberts of Section 480, and provided a basic description of the items in each of the eleven boxes. As a result, it was fairly easy for JPL staff to identify the documents they needed. Keeping the documents in the same order preserves and provides continuity from the unprocessed accession to the processed collection. The correlation between the unprocessed accession's eleven boxes versus the 42 boxes and 608 folders of the processed collection is as follows: the contents of Box 1 can now be found in Folders 2-45; Box 2 in Folders 46-114; Box 3 in Folders 115-145; Box 4 in Folders 146-186; Box 5 in Folders 187-251; Box 6 in Folders 252-443; Box 7 in Folders 444-566; Box 8 in Folders 567-574; Box 9 in Folders 575-583; Box 10 in Folders 584-596; and Box 11 in Folders 597-608. The collection contains Mars Pathfinder quality control documents that fall into the following general categories: Assembly As-Run Procedures, Mars Pathfinder Engineering Drawings used by the Spacecraft Assembly Facility, As-Built Log Books, Cruise Stage Hardware Certification Packages (HRCR's), Assembly and Inspection Data Sheets (AIDS) and Inspection Reports (IR's). Folder titles for Folders 567-608 were retained as found in the accession.
