Chiefly snapshots and portraits of Robert Brotherson, his parents, friends, and other family members. Especially well-documented is Brotherson's boyhood in southern California, Napa and Nova Scotia. Several photographs depict Brotherson's father and other soldiers during World War II. Also includes many war veterans' organizations group portraits that include Brotherson's mother. No other members of the Berkeley Activist Poets are identified in collection, nor are any of their activities, events, haunts, etc. Also includes portraits of poets Rosalie Moore and Stuart Friebert.

Rosalie Moore was born Gertrude Elizabeth Moore in Oakland, California on October 8, 1910. A widely-published poet and author, Moore's work has appeared in many periodicals and published volumes. She collaborated on a series of children's books with her husband, Bill Brown. Moore taught basic writing and creative writing classes at the College of Marin in Kentfield, California until her retirement in 1976. She died June 18, 2003. Robert Dale Brotherson was a member of the Berkeley Activist Poets. He changed his last name from Botherson. Robert Joseph Botherson, Brotherson's father, was a Canadian military officer and participated in World Wars I and II. Nellie Keas, Brotherson's mother, was a silent film actress.
