Letter, November 26, 1918.

Letter to J.B. Hirst, November 26, 1918 from New York City, regarding the sinking of a troop transport ship "President Lincoln" off the coast of France, 31 May 1918. Carter was one of the survivors. He expresses thanks that the war is over, dismay over the casualties and promises to meet Hirst at the Battery when his ship comes in.
