Charles Holland and Paul Adyman diary of an automobile trip through California and Nevada, circa 1925.

Typescript account (15 numbered pages; 12 leaves with mounted photographs), co-authored by two men, of a sightseeing automobile trip to locations throughout Calif. and Nev. The account covers travel from their home in Los Angeles to Death Valley, Calif. and ghost towns in Nevada and returning via San Francisco and the Pacific Coast Highway. The authors weave references to historical facts of the places they visit with their own experiences and observations. Places visited include: Furnace Creek Ranch (Death Valley, Calif.), Rhyolite, Nev.(Ghost town), Goldfield, Nev., San Francisco, and Kern River Canyon. Includes a detailed encounter with a famous Death Valley resident, "Scotty" [i.e. Walter E. Scott]. Also includes 21 black and white photographs (with captions) of "Scotty", the travelers, vehicles, buildings, and landscapes.
