Filza XX de signori Medici segnata con la lettera V, 1457-1690.

Collection of financial, notarial, legal, and miscellaneous documents concerning a wide range of activities of the Medici family and their Florentine and international counterparts. Most of the business documents consist of accounts, receipts, credit records, and inventories pertaining to farm management in Tuscany (especially the farms of Trespiano, Valdinievole, Fiesole, and Montecatini, all outside Florence), often with real estate plans and maps; to the iron, silver, textile, silk, grain, and slave trades both in Italy (primarily in Florence, Livorno, Pisa, Naples, and Messina) and abroad (in particular Spain, the Netherlands, France, and Germany), involving members of the Medici family, other Florentine merchants (including the Capponi, the Altoviti, the Guadagni, and the Gondi), Florentine guilds, as well as the Dutch branch of the East India Company; to financial operations involving the Medici Capponi bank of Florence and Naples, the Florentine mint, and the Monte di pietà (including documents dealing with the possibility of the Florentine government borrowing money from Jewish lenders); and to miscellaneous records of debts, credits, and other small transactions. Legal documents include real estate dealings; contracts and small disputes over farm production or farm boundaries; and documents pertaining to Vincenzo de' Medici's estate, with particular attention to his will and his daughters' dowry arrangements. Other miscellaneous items include memoranda; instructions on leather manufacture; and genealogical tables of various degrees of detail and accuracy for different branches of the Medici family.
