Reporting on activities at his post in Detroit: Indians at Detroit are quiet, although the provinces are as dilatory as usual in their Indian policies; the Wyandots complain of French encroachment on their lands; Captain Brown has four Senecas (at Niagara) as prisoners; believes killing them would have been preferable, as there will be difficulties in trying them. Post Script: Several French families have slipped away to the Miamis on pretense of trade, but in reality to ask for lands on which to settle.
