Letter book containing outgoing correspondence of Dwight & Williams (1820-1823), Dwight, Williams & Co. (1823-1826), and Timothy Dwight (1826-1828). Letters pertain to dealings in hardware, especially axes, andirons, fireplace shovels and tongs, brass kettles, and augurs. Dwight and Williams mainly sold within this country, but later Dwight expanded, exporting to the West Indies and South America. The beginning pages of the volume have been covered in newspaper clippings.
