Baron von Steuben's Instructions, 1778.

Baron von Steuben's "Regulations" was not published until 1779. This manuscript version was copied by Robert Hallam in 1778. Hallam was a native of New London, Connecticut, and used this in Norwich, 4th Connecticut line. He was commissioned a Captain on July 3, 1777.

Baron Friedrich von Steuben; Prussian military officer; reformed and disciplined the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War, subsequently regarded as one of the fathers of the United States Army.
