Dugregiy Dupuy and family papers, 1852-1910.

The papers include eleven letters from Nicholas J. Hoey of New Orleans to Dugregiy Dupuy in Iberville Parish describing the weather, antics of their mutual friends, nightlife, the Lexington vs. Lecomte horse race, the cotton and slave trades, city elections and politics, American disputes with Spain, news of the Crimean War, and other curious happenings in New Orleans (November 1854-November 1855). They also include four other business letters received by Dugregiy Dupuy (1854-1858), a petition against Joseph D. Dupuy for payment of $1,440 borrowed against his plantation and slaves (1852), a program for the sale of Live Oak Point Plantation and 261 slaves (1855), state and parish tax receipts for Prosper O. Dupuy (1874-1910), and a handful of other records concerning other Dupuy family members (1897-1909).
