In 1901 Michigan Mining School (now Michigan Technological University) in Houghton, Michigan received funding for two additional buildings. The Civil and Mining Engineering Building, was built at a cost of $28,880, was a two-story hip-roofed structure with a five-story tower centered on the front. The Micomi Club was a student-run dramatic group at the Michigan College of Mines (now Michigan Technological University) in Houghton, Michigan. They produced an annual musical comedy each spring, and in addition to performances at the Kerredge Theatre in Hancock, they toured the shows to Calumet, Marquette, Ishpeming, Crystal Falls, Iron Mountain, and Ishpeming.
