This collection documents all Penn State divisions included in the budget; materials include reports, fund accounts, strategic plans, meeting notes, analysis and reference materials, and correspondence primarily from the 1970s to the 1990s, with development video and 1 compact disk containing office files. This collection documents the administration of finances at Penn State through the 1930s and finances and operations in the late 20th century and beyond. The records of the early period contain a wealth of detailed historical information: early agreements beginning in 1856, cash books, bank records, and correspondence as well as ledgers and accounts. Later office files document various cost centers such as faculty activity, business offices, athletics, etc. They also contain vital information related to Penn State's community relations, oversight of its facilities, administration of athletics, and investments.

The Pennsylvania Humanities Council designated the year 1985 as "The Year of the Pennsylvania Writer." The PHC funded projects in eight locations throughout the Commonwealth to gain appreciation, understanding, and recognition for past and present Pennsylvania writers. The State College/University Park location held a two-stage conference and related events by five Centre County regional organizations.
