The collection (ca. 1810-1930) consists of letters, documents, cuttings, and notebooks. Most documents relate to Benjamin F. Eastman, 1800-1894, and are from the mid-nineteenth century. A few are attributable to his father, Benjamin Eastman, 1761-1831. The material was originally organized in bundles tied with ribbons. The ribbons have been removed and the bundles arranged onto two groups of files, preserving the original order whenever possible. Folder one contains the first group; folder 2-11 the second group.
