Public Service Commission study. Following public outcry over utility rate increases granted by the Michigan Public Service Commission, the Michigan House of Representative s launched an investigation into the activities and organization of the Public Service Commission. Under House Resolution 42, Representative Howard Wolpe was appointed to chair the Special House Public Service Commission Study Commission. This collection consists of the records of that Committee and includes correspondence, testimony before the special committee, reports, documents dating back to 1972, and papers presented as evidence on the Public Service Commission's activities and relationship with the utility companies. A few newspaper clippings show the intense climate of debate surrounding this study committee. Arranged as received.
