Extracts from Mr. Stoddard, A.M., 17--.

The unknown scribe of this document copied out selected passages from Solomon Stoddard's: The doctrine of instituted churches explained and proved from the word of God. (London : Printed for Ralph Smith, 1700). The writer speculates that Stoddard was in part answering Increase Mather's: The order of the Gospel. (Boston : Printed by B. Green & J. Allen for Benjamin Eliot, 1700). Stoddard was a pastor in Northampton, Mass. at the time he wrote his book.
