This collection consists of 245 mounted black and white photographs and 16 photographic negatives of Harvard University. The photographs depict both interior and exterior views of a range of buildings owned by Harvard University, including dormitories, administrative offices, libraries, museums, and laboratories. Included in the photographs are Widener Library, Memorial Church, and Fogg Museum. Also captured in the photographs are outdoor landmarks such as Dexter Gate, Sever Quadrangle, and the Larz Anderson Bridge. The photographs are notable both for their composition and for the level of architectural detail they illustrate. Commissioned by Harvard University, the photographs were intended for a "permanent file of pictures made for the historical records of Harvard."

Paul J. Weber, a well-known architectural photographer, was born ca. 1880 in Germany. He was married to Florence A. Weber, and the couple had two daughters.
