Mach attributes the text to Birkawī (Birgivı̂, d. 1573). The text is followed on fol. 52b-58a by several short excerpts from the same author, from al-Suyūṭī, Abū al-Saʻūd [Abū al-Suʻūd], etc., on blamable innovation (bidʻah) and other topics.
