Hand-drawn map providing details of the battlefield around the Ourcq River during the Second Battle of the Marne during World War I. The map was drawn by William A. Overholt, who served with the 67th Field Artillery Brigade, 42nd Division and is dated August 2, 1918. The map includes detailed hand-drawn visual accounts of the battlefield and includes notes describing various events witnessed during the fighting. Included are various reference points such as towns and rivers, craters caused by artillery shells, and supply convoys and depots. Of particular interest are the depictions of aerial battles and the location of observation balloons.
