Correspondence, forms, reports, clippings, photographs, wedding invitations and announcements, obituaries and death announcements, handwritten notes, and other papers of Ernst C. Schmidt. Most of the materials relate to members of the Inland Lakes Yachting Association (an organization of yacht clubs, mostly based in the Middle West) and the Lake Geneva Yacht Club (Wisconsin), where Schmidt was a member. In 1946, Schmidt was secretary/treasurer of the Inland Lakes Yachting Association. The collection also includes papers from the Geneva Lake Boat Company, of which Ernst. C. Schmidt was president, and working files documenting the operation of Grant Hospital in the 1960s, with several typescripts of minute books recorded from the 1870s-1890s. Also included is an illustration of the Zellengefangniss, a Berlin penitentiary (ca. mid-1800s).
