The collection includes materials from the Freemasons, Ancient Order of United Workmen, Modern Woodmen of America, the Grand Army of the Republic, Sons of Veterans, and other fraternal & veterans' organizations located in Wilson, Kan. Types of records include songbooks and sheet music; volumes recording the proceedings of state or national meetings or encampments; officers' & other types of reports; charters, bylaws, constitutions, & similar foundational records; applications, "black books," and other records related to membership; financial & accounting volumes; booklets with initiation ceremonies & other information describing various rites & ceremonies, including funeral services for members; circulars, bulletins, correspondence, & other materials from the statewide or national organization & between local organizations throughout Kansas; ribbons, flags, & other artifacts; and similar types of records exhibiting what these organizations did for their members and for their communities.
