Max Goodrich (1905-1999) graduated from the University of Minnesota and came to LSU in 1937. He taught physics before becoming dean of the Graduate School in 1961. He played a key role in bringing to LSU in 1965 a large National Science Foundation Development Grant that changed the complexion of the mathematics and physical science departments.
