The Hilaire Belloc - Allison family correspondence, 1918-1941 (bulk 1918-1932).

This collection contains the correspondence between Hilaire Belloc and the James Murray Allison family for the time period 1918-1941. Much of the correspondence deals with the column Belloc contributed to the periodical "Land & water", particularly the effort to have Belloc's column syndicated in 1918. Letters from Belloc to Elsie Allison following her husband's death in 1929, deal, in addition to personal matters, with Belloc's preparation for publication of James Murray Allison's "Travel notes."

On 5 April 1945 several African-American officers from the 477th Bombardment Group attempted to enter an officers' club at Freeman Field near Seymour, Ind., and were arrested.
