Includes 1876-1878 autograph book owned by Minnie Claussenius from Ogden School in Chicago. Correspondents include Mr. and Mrs. Lorenz Brentano, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Brentano, and Dorothy Brentano Meyer. Topics of correspondence include family, social life and customs, women, children, courtship, and marriage (primarily 19th century). Other topics of clippings and articles include Republican politics; U.S. diplomatic service; and the trial of Prendergast for the murder of Chicago Mayor Carter Harrison in 1893 and other trials at which Theodore Brentano was the presiding judge.
