Richard Albert Ross was born on August 30, 1920, in Racine, Wisconsin. He graduated from Hyde Park High School in Chicago, Illinois, in 1938. Richard, who was known as "Dick" to his friends, served as a Warrant Officer in the US Army during World War II. June Jennings Ross grew up in Houghton, Michigan, and graduated from Houghton High School in 1938. Richard and June met in California, where Richard started working for the California State Department of Employment in 1941. They were married in ...
