Sending his love to Henrietta and Maggie; updating her on a current project (Venus Veticordia), the new chicks hatched from the peahen, Chapman's "cold-water business" at Malvern, and the illness of Chapman's sister Mrs. Potter; describing a review of Christina "in this month's Fraser"; indicating that he will see William's chameleons tomorrow and discussing flowers for his picture; mentioning a visit from a friend of Mr. Mitchell ("who is to have the Venus"); asking if she's heard "of a Venetian (I think), named something like Gallera" and indicating that his widow recently paid him a visit and said that he had known his father.
